TAIPEI TRIP - 14MAY10-19MAY10
DAY #2Second day in Taipei and we went a couple of places for sightseeing before going shopping. Mainly cos shopping in Taipei is always done best in the late afternoon and at night. First stop was the famed 龙山寺 Temple. It's said to be very accurate in answering your prayers! So must go 拜拜 first. Better to believe than to scorn at it, lest something bad really happens!
At the MRT station waiting for the train to arrive. My pose is so retarded, I dont know why.
Me & sissy at this long corridor in between 龙山寺 MRT station and the actual temple itself
Front of 龙山寺 Temple. See now temples also very high tech, use electronic signboards ok.
The 3 cousins in front of a waterfall in the temple!
As a proof to it's fame, see how crowded the temple was? This is the temple where every New Year, people would fight tooth and nail just to be the first one to poke the joystick in.
There was this table full of this. It looked kinda creepy, like offerings to the dead, but actually tt's not it. These are actually offerings made by students in their prayers for good results. Those are photocopies of their student IDs.
This picture is really retarded. Haha. We were lost trying to find our way to the big Underground Mall in Taipei Railway Station (or something. I dont know what's the actualy name) when I spotted this - and 6 christmas trees -_-. Anyway I was too short even after tiptoeing, hence the retardness of the pic.
Saw this stuffed lion in the middle of nowhere too. Like that lion in Chronicles of Narnia. What's his name? Aslan?
Haha this is so funny. I spotted this in the MRT station.
Taipei Main Railway Station
Look! Coach Poppy series handphones!
Taipei Storyland. It's actually a musuem sort of place, where they showcase Taiwan's history. Like old kind of houses, old toys, old police station, old games blahblahblah. Pretty cool. We took neoprints here too but I have no idea who's holding on to the neoprints now.
Mascot of the musuem

Jailbird ID photos. Tehehe.

Scared of the dentist? You haven seen THIS yet.

Our neoprint!
Haha this dog looks like a toy but it's actually a real dog! Taipei is full of fake-looking dogs like this dog. haha.

Ok so we went on to the Hello Kitty restaurant to have our late lunch. BUT. We overshot our train stop and didnt realised it until we were trying to find the restaurant. SO WE WALKED ONE WHOLE ENTIRE MRT STATION STOP LENGTH. FML. We took like 25mins to walk there. And when we left we took only 5mins to walk to the right station. -_- Our feet were dying by the time we reached there cos we went on a 3.5hr shopping spree after Taiwan Storyland at the Underground mall.

Everything's Hello Kitty themed inside. But cos we arrived too late, we could only eat their tea-time menu. Mega embarrassing anyway. Cos you see, they have a minimum spending of 300NT (S$13++)for dine-in. So since we arrived at tea-time, we had no choice but to order those tarts, cakes blahblah ONLY. When we were making our orders, e waitress kindly told us tt it's 300NT PER PERSON, not PER TABLE. One small Hello Kitty cake abt the size of a hand palm cost 200NT (S$9++) and a small fruit tart of similar size cost 280NT (S$12++). So expensive :( If only we came during lunch time, we could order the main course, at least more worth it. So we left the restaurant w/o eating. AWWWWWWW.

This is not vanilla flavoured Hello Kitty cake. It's Yakult flavour! I really wanted to try it, but it was so ex :( This is the big one. See the price tag? 750NT!! (S$33++)
Even the seats (and the menu, the table placemat blahblahblah) are Hello Kitty themed!

After leaving the Hello Kitty restaurant, we went on to 五份铺 for some more crazy shopping. The things there are really cheap! It's like a wholesale center. Sort of like Platinum Mall in Bangkok. I think we spent like 6hours shopping there or something? Didnt take any pictures there cos we were too busy shopping heh! Then we left to check out 饒河夜市 nearby. Nothing much there, just my nail polish stuff!
Crabby patty anyone? ;D
My loot for the day! Shopped in XiMenDing whilst on our way back to the hotel too. Woah on tt day I shopped till the right side of my shoulder has a big bruise from carrying my bag (it's still here more than a week later!) and swollen left shoulder from carrying my shopping bag. It may not seemed much but my bags were so heavy aft more than 11hours of shopping, not including the time spent sightseeing!
Really backlogged in all my entries! Other than my Taipei trip, there are a few more entries to be posted up too! Hung out with YC & E at Starbucks+shopping, back to IJC for sportsday & collect SGC on thurs, and out with class clique yesterday COS FYN IS BACK!! :DDDD

TAIPEI TRIP - 14MAY10-19MAY10
DAY #1Ok, actually my holiday started on 15May, not 14May. BECAUSE I FREAKING HELL MISSED MY FLIGHT TO TAIPEI ON 14MAY. In the end I had to fly to Taipei on my own the next day, and travel from Taoyuan Airport to my hotel in XiMenDing by myself. So friends, when taking Jetstar, DO NOT EVEN BE LATE BY 1 MIN WHEN CHECKING IN COS THEY ARE NOT LIKE MORE ESTABLISHED AIRLINES THAT W STILL ALLOW YOU TO BOARD.
Anyway, my flight there was delayed, so by the time I reached Taoyuan Airport, there were no more bus service to XMD. SO after a few panick calls and randomly trying to find my way, I managed to meet up with my sis, Jasmine, my cousin and Wendy. After getting semi-lost once. So by the time I finally reached the hotel and settle down, it was 930pm and then we went for dinner at the Toilet Bowl Restaurant in XMD!
Can you see the big toilet bowl sitting right smack on top of the building?

The seats are actually toilet bowls. I sat on the gold one. Heh.
Shit lamps.
The table is actually a bathtub. With a piece of glass on top.
There's a shower tap for decoration purposes and the walls are lined with bathroom tiles.
This is the famous 芒果冰. Served in a urinal. With a shit-shaped ice cream at the side.
Chocolate flavour. We didnt finish either one in the end, cos it was just too huge.
Drinking 奶茶 from a 尿壶. haha. Must add 30NT for the 尿壶 ok! But we can bring it home la. The 奶茶 was very nice!
This is by far, my 2nd most favourite food from Taipei streets. It's actually fried quail eggs dripped with some sauce and pepper. Super delicious! I ate many many sticks. Those in XMD were the best, much nicer than Shilin's, but the stalls keep disappearing in XMD whenever the police came!! (which was quite frequent, if you have been to Taiwan before).
After that we went for some light shopping in XMD. WHY DO SHOPS IN XMD CLOSE SO EARLY ANYWAY :(

Haven had the time to sit down and actually blog about my Taipei escapade. In the meantime, here's a small little blog post.
See that pic right on top? That is my little sovenir from a phototaking session with a parrot whilst at a family bbq at Pasir Ris Park. It freaking hell bite the insides on my elbow and then use it's beak to scratch me on my forearm. damm pain FML.

My blog has been untouched recently. Now that I look back on my entries for the year, it seems as though my blog is no longer a reflection of myself. Perhaps somewhere along the line, I lost myself. It's easy to blame everything on disappointment, resentment and confusion, but to succumb to the temptation of pushing the blame onto those feelings would just be a reflection of a poor, weak personality. In any case, those periods of feeling emo and sad have most likely come to an end. At least, that's what I hope so :)
Each and every time, I'll advise JM the same thing whenever he confesses his thoughts to me. Yet I dont take heed of the same advice myself. Maybe he's right in that we all need to pause and take a break right now. Only then would this matter not grow and eventually consume our soul. So it's time I look on the bright side of things, and be glad that I'm not meeting anyone new right now. It's actually comforting in the sense that there is now escapism from the exhuastive motion of second guessing everyone else's thoughts, and then changing yourself to act accordingly.
Taipei trip was freaking awesome. Shopped like i never did before. Will blog about it soon!

Today, my best friend shaved his head.
On tuesday, my best friend is going into NS.
This means that I have nobody for me to whine to over MSN&SMS,
Nobody to cheer me up when I'm being a moody bitch
Nobody to be happy for me when I have good news!
Bloody hell, stupid NS. Take away my best friend! :(((((((((
